Wearable Breast Pump
Willow started as a rough functional rig out of the Exploramed incubator. I worked on the industrial design that turned it into a concept ready to raise money on.
The idea behind Willow was simple to want and hard to build: a breast pump that fits inside a bra, no tubes, no bottles hanging off you, no sitting still for twenty minutes. The early rig proved the mechanics could work. It didn't yet look like something you'd trust against your own skin.
This is a device worn under clothes, against the body, often while doing other things: working, holding a baby, walking around the house. Every design decision got weighed against that reality rather than how it looked sitting on a table.
The shape had to disappear under a shirt and still feel considered up close: soft edges, no visible seams where they'd chafe, nothing that reads as medical equipment. Quiet confidence, not a gadget.
Willow went on to launch the world's first all-in-one, in-bra wearable breast pump, developed further with Function Engineering before reaching market.
